Real burns Barça

Real Madrid reach the final of the Spanish Cup (Copa del Rey) with a spectacular 3-1 away win at arch rivals Barcelona, with two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo. It has long been said that José Mourinho knew how to beat Barça although his players did not; yesterday was a story of revenge for Real.

The spoils this year for Real Madrid may be the Champions League (adversary Manchester United after a home 1-1 draw) and the Copa del Rey (3-1 away win at Barcelona after a home 1-1 draw) with the Spanish La Liga going to Barcelona. Yesterday Real went 3-0 up at Nou Camp with two goals from Cristiano Rolaldo and one from Raphael Varane, and a consolation from Barcelona's Jordi Alba.
