Europa League: Russian clubs goalless but not out
Anzhi was held at home by Newcastle United and has a difficult away trip while Rubin Kazan had a goalless draw away in Valencia at Levante. Zenit is down 2-0 from the visit to Switzerland but the tie is not over yet; the second goal came after 94 minutes, from a penalty!
Two surprises this evening - Steaua Bucuresti (Romania) defeating the mighty Chelsea FC in Bucharest, one goal to nil scored by Rusescu, from a 34-minute penalty shot. The second was the home defeat of Stuttgart by Lazio, goals from Ederson (21) and Onazi (56). Benfica takes a slender lead to Bordeaux after a one-nil win at the Stadium of Light in Lisbon, while Tottenham books a place in the next round (probably) with a demolition of Inter Milan in London. Likewise Fenerbahce, which got a valuable away win at Plzen's stadium.
