Europa league: Rubin down but not out

Europa league: Rubin down but not out -  A defeat by two goals in London at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge means Rubin Kazan have an uphill task in the second leg in Russia; however the penalty shot by Natcho, converted on 41 minutes, gave the only Russian team in the Champions League quarter-finals a glimmer of hope.

Champions League

In the last eight of the Champions League, there are three Spanish teams (Real Madrid, Barcelona and Málaga), two Germans (Dortmund and Bayern Munich), one French (Paris Saint-Germain), one Turkish (Galatasaray) and one Italian (Juventus). Barcelona and Bayern have the advantage from the first games on Tuesday April 2, with a 2-2 away draw and a 2-0 home win, respectively.

In Wednesday's games, Málaga and Dortmund shared the points in a goalless draw in Spain, with 50 per cent ball possession each, 7 shots on target each, although the visiting goalkeeper had to make more saves (7 against 3). In Madrid, Real seems to have put the game out of Turkish side Galatasaray's reach with goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema and Higuaín.
