La Liga and Premiership alive

The two championships very much alive (Russia's resumes later this month) are Spain's La Liga, with three teams separated by three points and the English Premiership, where Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City battle it out at the top. In Germany, France, Italy, and seemingly Portugal, the championships are already one-horse races.

La Liga (After 26 matches)

Real Madrid is still clear at the top of La Liga after a useful draw away at Atlético (2-2). Benzema got an early goal on 3', Koke and Gabi scored for Atlético before the break and Cristiano Ronaldo scored the equalizer on 82'. Real leads on 64 points, Barcelona is second on 63 (4-1 over Almeria) and Atlético has 61 points.

Premiership (After 28 matches)

Chelsea (63), Liverpool (59), Arsenal (59), Manchester City (57, two games in hand). Chelsea crossed London to win 3-1 at Fulham, Stoke beat Arsenal 1-0 and Liverpool beat Southampton away 3-0.

 Bundesliga (After 23 matches)

Bayern Munich is twenty points clear at the top with 65 points. Second is Borussia Dortmund (45), and third Bayer 04 Leverkusen (43). Bayern beat Schalke 5-1 with goals from Alaba, a hat-trick from Robben and one from Mandzukic. Dortmund beat Nürnberg 3-0 and Leverkusen did no better than a 1-0 home defeat by Mainz.

 

Serie A (After 26 matches)

Juve leads on 69 points after beating AC Milan 2-0 away. Second is AS Roma (58 points, 1 game in hand) after drawing at home with Inter Milan, third is Napoli (52), after a 1-1 away at Livorno.

 Ligue 1 (After 26 matches)

 PSG leads with 64 points, now eight points clear of second-placed AS Monaco. PSG beat Marseille 2-0, Monaco went down by the same result at Saint-Étienne.

Primeira Liga (After 21 matches)

FC Porto is nine points adrift of the leader Benfica, after a 2-2 draw at Guimarães, while Benfica won 1-0 at Belenenses and Sporting CP received Braga (2-1). Benfica has 52 points, Sporting 47 and FC Porto 43.

Turkish League (After 23 matches)

Fenerbahçe (51 points) leads the Turkish league. Galatasaray AS is second with 45

In Azerbaijan, after 24 games the Championship is led by Qarabag with 49points, Qabala is second with 43 points and Baki FC third on 41.

Russian Premier League (After 19 matches)

The Russian Premier is hot, hot, hot. Zenit recovered with a 2-1 win over Ural and is equal first (40 points) with Lokomotiv (drawless home game with Rubin). Spartak Moskva is third with 39 points (1-0 winner at Rostov).  Dinamo Moskva (35) beat Amkar 2-0 in Moscow, while CSKA (34) lost 1-0 at Krasnodar. The championship resumes in March.

In Armenia FC Ararat leads, 8 points clear, with 30 points from 14 games. The Championship resumes in March; in Belarus after 32 games, BATE Borisov is the Champion. In Kazakhstan, FC Aktobe is champion.
