Hummels for United as Van Gaal leaves his mark

Authoritarian, father figure, sergeant...the difference between the new manager of Manchester United when compared with his predecessor David Moyes according to British sources, which claim the Dutchman has ordered HD cameras to record all details of training sessions. Top of the shopping list: Mats Hummels.

Mats Hummels, 25, Germany's giant defender and hero of the winning FIFA 2014 World Cup team, seems set to join Manchester United in a move from Borussia Dortmund, which should cost 20 million GBP. Tiago Llori, 21, of Liverpool, seems set to go the other way, from England to Borussia Dortmund on loan. Other deals involving Liverpool and Manchester United are the possible signing of Alberto Moreno (22, Sevilla) and Javier Manquillo (20, Atlético Madrid) to Liverpool, while Atlético's manager Diego Simeone is set to put in a 14 million-GBP bid for Manchester United's Japanese midfield player Shinji Kagawa.

Manchester United's Marouane Fellaini, 26, is interesting Italy's Serie A title contenders Napoli.

Meanwhile, in London, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, 22, has rejoined Chelsea after being on loan at Atlético Madrid for three years, and says he aims to learn with Petr Cech...who in turn is rumoured to favour a move away from José Mourinho's Blues if he loses the number one spot in goal. Christian Atsu, 22, Chelsea and Ghana winger, seems set to join Everton FC on a one-year loan deal.

From Ukraine, Shakhtar Donetsk striker Facundo Ferreyra, 23, seems set for Newcastle United, while ex-Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o is a free agent looking for a club.
