Vancouver: Two More Medals for Russia

A Silver medal in the Ladies’ snowboard (Parallel Giant Slalom) won by Ekaterina Ilyukhina and a Bronze in the Men's 4x7.5 km Relay brought Russia’s medals tally in Vancouver to 15 (3 Gold, 5 Silver and 7 Bronze).

Ekaterina Ilyukhina won Silver in the Ladies’ snowboard (Parallel Giant Slalom) on Friday, finishing behind The Netherlands’ Nicolien Sauerbreij and ahead of Austria’s Marion Kreiner. Also on Friday the 4-man Russian team in the Men's 4x7.5 km Relay (Ivan Tcherezov, Anton Shipulin, Maksim Tchoudov and Evgeny Ustyugov) won Bronze behind Norway (Gold) and Austria (Silver). Ustyugov adds the Brinze to the Gold medal he won in the Men’s Biathlon 15 km mass start event.

Russia’s medals

Russia has won 15 medals in Vancouver, three Golds, five Silvers and seven Bronzes.

Gold medallists: Men’s Biathlon 15 km mass start Evgeny Ustyugov; Men’s Cross-Country Skiing Individual Sprint Classic Nikita Kriukov; Ladies’ Biathlon 4x6 km relay Anna Bogaliy-Titovets; Olga Medvedsteva; Olga Zaitseva and Svetlana Sleptsova.

Silver medallists: Women’s Biathlon 12.5 km mass start Olga Zaitseva; Men’s Figure Skating Evgeni Plushenko; Men’s Cross-Country Skiing Aleksandr Panzhinskiy; Men’s 10,000 metre Speed Skating Ivan Skobrev; Ladies’ snowboard (Parallel Giant Slalom) Ekaterina Ilyukhina.

Bronze Medallists: Men’s Two-Man Bobsleigh Aleksandr Zubkov and Aleksei Voevoda; Men’s Skeleton Aleksandr Tretyakov; Men’s 5000 m speed skating Ivan Skobrev; Women’s Team Sprint Free Irina Khazova and Natalia Korosteleva; Men’s Team Sprint in Cross-Country Skiing Nikolai Morilov and Aleksei Petukhov; Figure Skating Ice Dance – Free Dance Oksana Domnina and Maksim Shabalin; Men's 4x7.5 km Relay Ivan Tcherezov, Anton Shipulin, Maksim Tchoudov and Evgeny Ustyugov.
