Flying moose lands on rooftop during car accident. 45084.jpegA car accident with the participation of moose took place on a federal highway in the Tula region of Russia. The animal appeared on the road out of the blue, and the driver simply had no time to avoid the collision. Two people were injured in the accident. The female passenger was hospitalized, she is currently staying in an emergency care unit of a local hospital, officials said.

The accident took place at 5.40 a.m. on Crimea Highway. An adult moose appeared on the highway. The driver of a Chevrolet Lacetti, a Muscovite, was driving his car at a moderate speed. The road was empty early in the morning, but the man failed to prevent the collision with the animal. The moose landed on the roof of the car.

The driver's wife suffered injuries in the collision, Interfax reports. The woman was hospitalized. The driver received only several bruises. The animal suffered lethal injuries in the accident. Specialists had to put the moose down on the scene.

Car accidents with the participation of moose occur on a regular basis in Russia. Videos of such accidents regularly appear on YouTube. In one of the most popular videos, moose became the reason for two accidents at once. The animal ran onto the road and was run over by a Mazda. The impact was so strong that it tossed the animal into the air. The animal landed on another car and smashed its windshield.
