Russian scientists create new chemical to fight oil contamination

Russian scientists designed a unique substance which allows to fight the consequences of oil spills. The substance is capable of accelerating the decomposition of harmful agents.

The new chemical was called Degroil. The substance has a very complicated chemical structure containing aminoacids, simple and composite sugars, protein and composite enzymes.

Degroil is absolutely harmless to animals and humans, specialists say. It is also very easy to handle: oil stains disappear immediately once they are treated with the chemical.

The new agent allows to considerably decrease the oil contamination of the ground within several weeks.

Degroil may appear on the market next year and will be offered to large oil companies first and foremost, RIA Novosti reports.
