Warning: Women should not drink Colas

According to a study published in the latest edition of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, October 2006, the consumption of colas by women increases the risk of osteoporosis.

The study reveals that carbonated drinks based on the cola plant are associated with a lower mineral density in bones in control groups composed by women, which means that they are confronted by a higher risk of osteoporosis, a condition which makes bones weaker and more brittle, and prone to snapping. The study in question was made on 2,500 persons and was led by Katherina Turner, of Tucks University, Boston.

Studies made on groups of women who consumed colas regularly demonstrate a decrease in bone density in the hipbone, a phenomenon that was not registered in the male control group, who drank more colas.
