Agreement Signed in Yekaterinburg on Cooperation between Sverdlovsk Region and Piedmont, Italy

The administration of the Sverdlovsk Region has signed its first cooperation agreement with an Italian region - Piedmont. The information department of the governor of the Sverdlovsk Region today announced that the document was signed yesterday in Yekaterinburg by Veniamin Golubitsky, first deputy premier of the Sverdlovsk regional administration, and Gilberto Piccetto Frantin, first deputy governor of Piedmont, who visited the region July 21-22 at the head of a delegation. According to Frantin, 'the Russian and Italian regions will cooperate together directly, without a third party, to create joint projects in various branches of industry'.

According to figures released by the department, the priorities for cooperation outlined in the agreement are metallurgy, automobile manufacturing, construction, light industry and the woodworking industry, farming, utilities, banking, and the development of small and medium-sized business. A joint working group for realizing the agreement will be set up in the near future.
