Kyrghyzstan government bans protest actions at strategically important establishments

Kyrghyzstan's government has issued a list of strategically important establishments and installations that must not be venues of pickets and other protest actions. Mass actions can hamper operation of such establishments, the republic's governmental press office said Monday.

The list includes foreign embassies, representations, government buildings and state-owned organizations, main and outlying motor roads, tunnels, bridges, military installations, water reserves, hydro power plants, industrial enterprises, oil terminals, filling stations, gas pipelines, bus and railroad stations, and airports.

Also prohibited for staging protests at are hospitals, television companies, health resorts, holiday homes, children's summer camps, educational establishments and banks.
