The extradition date of the 13 militants held on Georgian territory is not yet known, Russian Deputy Prosecutor General Sergei Fridinsky informed RIA Novosti.

"The Georgian authorities have previously expressed readiness to extradite militants, though we have seen no practical results so far," he stressed.

On Wednesday the Georgian Prosecutor General Nugzar Gabrichidze told journalists that the 13 armed Chechens detained in the Chechen zone of the Russian-Georgian border at the beginning of August could be extradited to the Russian authorities in the near future.

In his words, the examination of the detainees' documents provided by the Russian colleagues has almost been completed. The detainees face charges under four articles of the Russian Federation Criminal Code. The gravest one is an attempt on the life of soldiers and police officers, noted Gabrichidze.
