The emergencies ministry of North Ossetia has by now collected 106 resorts about missing people.

According to a source in the ministry, several bodies have been identified, including that of Atsamaz Pliyev of the republic's parliament apparatus.

The calamity hit North Ossetia on Friday, September 20, when a glacier sliding down the river Genaldon produced a mud torrent 11 kilometers wide. The torrent stopped 7 kilometers south of the village of Gizel, having destroyed a three-story uninhabited building belonging to the Karmadon health center, two holiday homes belonging to the North Ossetian State University and the republican justice ministry, 1.5 kilometers of power lines and a new branch of a gas pipeline and sealed off the villages of Mairam, Kani, Gornaya Saniba, Koban, and Tmeni.
