Magomedali Magomedov, Chairman of Daghestan's State Council, may soon bring up the issue of restoring the death penalty for appalling crimes at the federal top. A State Council meeting, which discussed the course of inquiry into the Kaspiisk terror act, has moved that the Russian president should be addressed with a proposal to lift a moratorium on the death penalty. The republican leader agreed with the motion in general, but said it must be first considered at the Daghestani People's Assembly. I am ready to agree to the death penalty and reach the president of the Russian Federation with a related request should the parliament decide on that, said Mr Magomedov. Mr Magomedov then urged local law-enforcers to focus on tracing the criminals guilty of the Kaspiisk terror action.
