Uzbek President, US Commander discuss military cooperation
Uzbek President Islam Karimov and General Peter Pace, the Vice Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, discussed regional security, the fight against international terrorism and the development of bilateral military cooperation in Tashkent on Friday.
Karimov pointed to the importance of the Declaration on Strategic Partnership and the Bases of Cooperation between Uzbekistan and the USA, the apparatus of the Uzbek government told RIA Novosti on Saturday. According to Karimov, it is important that this document "implies the development of relations not only in military-technical, but also in economic, social and other spheres."
