Released commemorative gold and silver coins released in Turkmenia

The Central Bank of Turkmenia has released a set of commemorative gold and silver coins devoted to the parents of president of Turkmenistan Saparmurat Niyazov by Day of Commemoration of the victims of the Ashkhaban earthquake of 1948.

One of the coins bears a picture of a sculpture of the mother of the president, hero of Turkmenia Gurbansoltan-edge, with a baby in her hands, and another - a picture of a fragment of the memorial in honour of the president's father, hero of Turkmenia Atarmurat-aga. Both coins bear the profile of the president himself on their counterside.

According to the Central Bank's information, 1,000 commemorative coins with a face value of 500 manats are made of 925 fine silver, and 200 coins with a face value of 1,000 manats, weighing 39.9 grams each, are made of 916 fine gold.
