More than 1,000 tons of ammunition to be utilized in Belarus
More than 1,000 tons of ammunition are to be utilized in Belarus, said deputy head of the Belarussian defense ministry's missile and artillery department Alexander Kuksov.
At present the country is carrying out the state program for utilization of general types of ammunition, he said. The main executor is the scientific industrial concern of powder metallurgy. The program is coordinated by the defense ministry.
The program has put into operation two utilization centers, for avia means of destruction and for artillery and engineering ammunition, Kuksov said.
Utilization of air bombs and shells has already given 176 tons of ferrous metal junk, 4 tons of copper and 61 tons of industrial TNT which will be used at the country's mining enterprises.
