Obama won't down aircraft with Snowden on board

The U.S. president promised not to intercept the aircraft, on board of which Edward Snowden may fly from Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport.

"I'm not going to be scrambling jets to get a 29-year-old hacker," President Obama said Thursday.

Obama also said that he had discussed the situation with Snowden on the phone with the heads of Russia and China.

Snowden himself has been languishing in the transit area of Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow for several days already. He can not cross the Russian border or fly to another country due to the fact that his passport had been canceled.

It was earlier reported that Snowden has not always been a fighter for the truth. It was revealed that he had previously adhered to other views and condemned the whistleblowers, who publicized documents about the preparation of an operation against the Iranian nuclear program.
