IMF to plunder Ukraine for $27 billion

Negotiations between the current Ukrainian leadership and the International Monetary Fund ended with signing an agreement. The IMF will give Kiev 27 billion dollars.

Ukraine will receive 14-18 billion as a loan for two years. Nothing has been said on how the IMF is going to give the rest of the amount.

The decision on subsidies to Kiev is not yet final. The final decision on the subject will be made in April, following the meeting of the IMF Executive Board.

Immediately after coming to power, the new government of Ukraine announced that it would need $$5 billion to solve the crisis. The single-handed opening of the European market for Ukrainian goods, according to the Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk, will bring the country about $490 million. Several countries have pledged to allocate considerable subsidies to Ukraine within the scope of IMF programs under conditions of economic reforms.

Noteworthy, Russia canceled the gas discount for Ukraine. The country's fuel costs will thus grow 1.5 times.
