Afghan Foreign Minister Welcomes Opening Of Russian Embassy In Kabul

Special envoy of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Oblov and provisional head of the Russian representation in Afghanistan Vladimir Ivanenko today met Afghan Foreign Minister Doctor Abdullah Abdullah. Oblov told RIA Novosti that they had discussed the activity of Russia's diplomatic mission in Afghanistan and issues of bilateral co-operation. According to the special envoy, the Afghan foreign minister "welcomed the opening of the Russian diplomatic mission in Kabul." Vladimir Ivanenko assumed his duties on Wednesday, dealing with Russia's interests in Afghanistan.
