Toxic wastes, which appeared as a result of the NATO bombings, will be sent to Switzerland for processing. Containers with toxic wastes, which appeared in Yugoslavia after the NATO bombings in 1999, will be sent from "Zastava avtomobili" plant in the city Kragujevac, thus completing a two-year program of the Yugoslav Labour, Health and Social Issues Secretariat and the United Nations Environment Programme.

The toxic wastes will be taken to Switzerland in 19 railroad containers via Hungary and Austria.

It is the first batch of wastes to be disposed outside the republic in accordance with the agreement between Yugoslavia and the UN Programme, which envisages the international community's support in fulfilment of the programme of environmental sanitation of Yugoslavia in the wake of the NATO air campaign.
