Concept of Russia-Belarus social development under discussion

The draft concept of the social development of the Union of Russia and Belarus up to 2005 will be discussed at the scientific-practical conference to be held in Moscow June 25-26.

Executive chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Russia and Belarus Vladimir Aksyonov said that the aim of this forum was to attract executive power bodies, scientific and public organisations to an active search for ways of solving social problems in Russia and Belarus, to the formation of the coordinated social policy.

Several sections will function within this conference which is being held by the Council of Ministers of the Union State jointly with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union. The section participants will discuss the following themes: labour and social protection, public health, education, culture and sports.
