Regional anti-terrorist structure to be set up within Shanghai cooperation organisation
The earliest beginning of "the functioning of the regional anti-terrorist structure will become a basis for carrying out practical measures to combat international terrorism, separatism and extremism on the territory of the states participating in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation" (SCO). As the RIA Novosti correspondent reports, this is said in the draft agreement on setting up a regional anti-terrorist structure which was approved on Thursday at a meeting of the heads of law-enforcement bodies and secret services of the Bishkek Group member states participating in the SCO.
The determination "not to let the territories of their states be used for organising any kind of activity doing damage to their sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to public security" was also confirmed in the course of today's meeting.
