Tripartite Meeting Of Presidents Of Russia, Tajikistan And Afghanistan To Be Held In Dushanbe

In a few hours' time, Dushanbe will host a tripartite meeting between Vladimir Putin, Emomali Rakhmonov and Burhanuddin Rabbani, the presidents of Russia, Tajikistan and Afghanistan, told journalists Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov after his meeting with the Tajik president. According to Mr. Ivanov, the presidents will discuss the future coalition government of Afghanistan, as well as political and military issues. The minister said that Vladimir Putin's plane would land in Dushanbe in several hours. Mr. Ivanov mentioned that at his meeting with the Tajik president, the two officials "talked sincerely and in great detail about the situation with security in the region and, first and foremost, in Afghanistan." They "outlined the future steps to boost security and cooperation between Russia and Tajikistan." Mr. Ivanov also said that they discussed issues of bilateral relations.
