Yearly Trade Volumes Between Russia And Poland

Bilateral trade between Russia and Poland for January-July of this year was 3 billion 160 million dollars. The ministry of economic development and trade released this to RIA Novosti in connection with the current visit to Russia by the Polish Prime Minister Leszek Miller. According to the ministry, Russian exports to Poland for the first 7 months of this year were 2 billion 618 million 200 thousand dollars, while imports from Poland reached 541 million 800 thousand dollars. In 2000, bilateral trade volumes increased 59,5% against last year reaching 5 billion 398 million 300 thousand dollars. Russian exports to Poland rose last year by 69,6% and reached 4 billion 539 million dollars. Imports increased 21,2% to 859 million 300 thousand dollars. Russian exports to Poland are mainly made up of energy resources: 80% of the overall volume. Russia also exports to Poland products of the metallurgy and chemical industries, vehicles and equipment. According to ministry experts, Russian natural gas supplies meet 90% of Polish demand, while oil supplies meet 70%. According to the ministry, around 10% of Russian oil exports goes to the Polish market.
