Russian equipment going to Germany to combat flood aftermath

A convoy of lorries of the Russian Emergency Ministry carrying equipment necessary to fight the consequences of the flood set out for Germany on Tuesday. The convoy consists of 10 KamAZ and 5 MAZ trucks, as well as escort vehicles with 220 motor-driven pumps, 490 thermal ventilators, 90 diesel generators and a laboratory to test the stability of buildings and structures.

In future, humanitarian assistance will be sent to the Czech Republic and Hungary.

The assistance is being rendered to Germany on a request by the German government and on instructions from the President of Russia. The equipment that is going to Germany was recently used in Southern Russia to combat floods there and has shown itself to advantage.
