Russian-Chinese Trade Turnover Increases by 17 Percent and Totals 8.87 Billion Dollars

Russian-Chinese trade turnover has increased by 17 percent and totals 8.87 billion dollars in the first nine months of 2002, Chinese Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Shi Guangsheng said, greeting a Russian delegation headed by Presidential plenipotentiary in the Central Federal District Georgy Poltavchenko, in Beijing. The Chinese Minister pointed to the long-term and rapid growth of Russian-Chinese trade turnover in 2002.

Poltavchenko's delegation is paying an official visit to China after spending a week in China's south, the Guangdong province. They attended the 92nd Chinese fair of export goods, visited the towns of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Dongguan and Zhongshan and took part in Guangdong-Russia trade negotiations.

The Russian Central Federal District established partnership with the Guangdong province.
