Japanese entrepreneurs propose that an association of small and medium-sized companies interested in cooperation with Japan be created in Russia. "We are convinced that this is necessary for expanding and intensifying Russian-Japanese trade and economic cooperation," managing director of the Japanese association for promoting trade with Russia and East European countries Tsunenobu Miyazaki told RIA Novosti. He believes that the future of Russian-Japanese economic ties belongs to comparatively small projects which will involve small and medium-sized private companies of the two countries. "The era of the USSR, when big state enterprises cooperated with Japanese companies, is the thing of the past, and the entrepreneurs of both countries should stop dreaming about grandiose projects typical of the Soviet times," Miyazaki pointed out. The association incorporates more than 120 Japanese companies interested in cooperation with Russia.
