Kyrgyz President receives surgery in Moscow

Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev received surgery in Moscow. The surgery was performed on the meniscus of the knee, spokespeople for the Department of Information Policy of the President of Kyrgyzstan told reporters.

According to the doctors, the operation was successful. The president of Kyrgyzstan took a short vacation to receive the surgery in Moscow.

"It is expected that the President will return to Kyrgyzstan in the coming days," officials said.

On February 7, Atambayev visited the opening of the Winter Olympics in Sochi.
