USA to spend $73.7 billion on overseas military operations

 

The US authorities intend to spend 73.7 billion dollars on military operations abroad in 2015, world's leading publications report. 

According to RIA Novosti, the above-mentioned amount was indicated in the draft of the federal budget for the current fiscal year. On Tuesday evening, the document was coordinated at the Congress. The Senate and the House of Representatives may vote on the document as early as Thursday.

The spending provides $73.7 billion for overseas military operations and diplomatic efforts by the State Department to combat terrorism, including $3.4 billion to continue the air campaign against Islamic State militants and $1.6 billion to train the Iraqi military. Provides $4.1 billion to train and equip Afghanistan's military.

Note that the Pentagon is to receive the largest increase in funding - 490.2 billion dollars. This is $ 3.3 billion more than last year. In addition, the Pentagon will receive additional funds for a number of specialized programs, including the development of new weapons.

Maintaining 1.3 million active-duty troops and 820,800 reserves would cost $128 billion. Another $162 billion is provided for operations and maintenance; procurement of new weapons systems, including 38 new F-35 fighters, totals $92 billion.
