USA to build new model of relations with China, to protect allies from 'Chinese threat'
U.S. President Barack Obama said that America intends to create a "new model" of relations with China. The model would be expressed in a constructive settlement of all arising disputes, a statement from the White House said.
"The United States welcomes the emergence of a stable, peaceful and prosperous China", Obama said. According to him, the relationship between the two countries should be based on determination to cooperate.
In April, the U.S. President made a tour of Asia. Although China was not included in the itinerary of the American leader, it was China that became one the main topics of negotiations with Washington's partners in the region. Obama tried to assure all of them that the U.S. was ready to protect allies from the "Chinese threat."
