No attempts by Afghan refugees to cross the Uzbek-Afghan border in the wake of the US anti-terrorist operation in Afghanistan have so far been registered. The committee for the protection of Uzbekistan's national border declared on Monday that, on the entire 160-km stretch of the border between the two countries, no attempts by refugees to get into Uzbekistan were noticed since the USA launched its military operation in Afghanistan. The situation on the Uzbek-Afghan border remains stable, noted the committee. Nevertheless, the border units remain on high alert.
