Russia, Lithuania to Sign, in Kaliningrad, Agreement on Mating Their Fiber-optic Communications Lines

Mikhail Ivankov, The First Deputy Minister of Railroads of Russia, and representatives from the counterpart ministry of Lithuania are about to sign an agreement on mating the two countries' fiber-optic communication lines. According to the press service of the Kaliningrad Railroad, the deputy minister arrived in Kaliningrad yesterday for this purpose.

Mr. Ivankov will have a closer look at the situation at Kaliningrad Railroad, visit a number of companies in the region, and attend the opening of the children's clinic of the railroad's hospital. The deputy minister is also expected to discuss with the regional administration the functioning of the railroad after Lithuania and Poland join the European Union.
