German mass media believe trust to Swiss air safety system undermined

The German mass media believe that the collision between the Tu-154 airliner and the Boeing cargo aircraft signifies the poor state of European ground control services. This particularly refers to Switzerland. According to the Lauzitzer Rundschau newspaper, the tragedy has undermined trust to the Swiss air control system whose scope of responsibility also includes Southern Germany and Western Austria.

According to the German press, we expect specialists who have human lives in their hands "to be reliable and professional, while at present, it is clear that that night, which claimed 71 lives, they failed to show this kind of performance." Experts believe that the present situation when international air traffic exercises national approach and the air is divided into a great number of national zones, which pilots pass through one by one, is absurd. German observers believe that such a situation in combination with human factor caused the tragedy over the Bodensee.

In the late hours of July 2nd, a Russian Tu-154 airliner of the Bashkirian Airlines collided with the DHL's Boeing-757 cargo aircraft at an 11,000-meter altitude. Many experts believe that it is Swiss air controllers who are responsible for the tragedy. There were 12 crewmen and 57 passengers /52 children and 5 adults accompanying them in a vacation/ on-board the Tu-154, and only two pilots on board the Boeing. No one survived.
