Russia intends to give its Russian-made MiG-29 fighter planes a full refit. This was announced at a press conference in Sofia by Bulgarian Deputy Defence Minister Sonya Iankulova. The Deputy Defence Minister said that a number of Bulgarian factories have the capability to carry out the work, but they have not yet received the necessary license. The Bulgarian government wants to obtain the licenses as part payment of Russia's debt to Bulgaria. The question of the license was one of the topics for discussion during President Vladimir Putin's current visit to Bulgaria.
