The first session of the Working Group of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation, which comprises six republics of the former Soviet Union, will take place in Moscow today. The session will be attended by Deputy Minsters of Foreign Affairs, Defence and Finance of these countries - Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Each of these member-countries of the Organisation will present its draft documents.

The decision to form a Collective Security Treaty Organisation was taken in the spring this year at the Moscow meeting between the Presidents of these six countries. According to their plan, it is called upon to become an element of the new international collective security system and to pool the efforts of the member-countries in the fight against the new challenges and threats - international terrorism, drug trafficking and religious and national extremism. A considerable place in the activity of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation will be given to military-technological cooperation between its member-countries.
