Russia has not passed point of no return with NATO

Officials with the Russian Foreign Ministry believe that, despite tensions in relations between Russia and NATO, "the point of no return" has not been passed yet. Interaction with the alliance is to continue, Russian diplomats believe, Interfax reports.

"The point of no return has not been passed yet. I think that it remains in the interests of both parties not to escalate tensions, but to actively collaborate on real threats to European and global security. As for Russia, we are ready for it " Deputy Foreign Minister Alexei Meshkov told Interfax.

Foreign ministers of NATO countries will gather for a meeting in Brussels this week. Traditionally, a ministerial meeting of the Russia-NATO Council was conducted simultaneously. The work of the Russia-NATO Council was frozen due to the position of the parties about the situation in Ukraine.

"A lot will depend on the willingness of our colleagues from NATO countries to stand  on real soil. The current suspension in the work of the council affects global and European security in the first place. All kinds of extremists, ISIS and other Islamic caliphates can only gain profit from this situation," said the Russian diplomat.
