Two-time Olympic champion in pole-vaulting, Yelena Isinbayeva, has been accredited for the position of the mayor of the Olympic Village. Isinbayeva posted the photo of the "Village Mayor" badge on her Instagram.

"Hooray, I am in Sochi! Got the accreditation, taking office of the mayor of the Olympic Village tomorrow!!! I'm all goosebumps," the athlete wrote.

Isinbayeva will take office on Thursday, January 30, when the Olympic Village opens. The athlete will conduct meetings of delegations and members of the IOC, as well as all visiting dignitaries.

Yelena stated that she was ready to work and "protect the interests of athletes, if needed."
