Anorexic Russian figure skater recovers

Talented Russian figure skater Julia Antipova, who currently undergoes the course of medical treatment for anorexia at Schneider's Children's Medical Center in Israel, marked her 17th anniversary on December 18.

Julia weighs more than she did at the World Figure Skating Championship in 2014. Today, the skater weighs 34 kg. Two months ago, her weight was 24-26 kg.

The Figure Skating Federation of Russia stopped funding the skater's further treatment in early December. The athlete was hospitalized with severe anorexia in the summer of 2014.

The limit of three million rubles that was set for Antipova's treatment was significantly exceeded. However, the Figure Skating Federation paid the bill from the clinic in full. Afterwards, Julia will be able to continue the recovery process in Russia at absolutely no cost.
