Eighty-five percent of Russians intend to follow Olympics competitions. A survey conducted by Levada Center showed that the victory of the Russian Olympic team was more important for two-thirds of respondents (65 percent) than simply the pleasure of watching the Games. Twenty-two percent of respondents share a different opinion, and 13 percent were undecided.

Russians are mostly interested in figure skating, biathlon and ice hockey, the poll said.

Since the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, residents of Russia became more confident of the fact that Russian athletes are treated like athletes from other countries at international competitions.
