Open letter to Alexis Tsipras

We turn to you and through your intervention, to the thousands of Greek citizens who offered their voices to your political organization, to express our gratitude, our solidarity and our support for the resistance that you are imposing against the ravages of neoliberal material conditions, of the political scenes and life in Greek society.

Dear Comrade Alexis Tsipras,

We write to you as citizens of European countries such as Greece, who are now affected by the "debtocratic" offensive of financial and oligarchic powers in Europe.

We turn to you and through your intervention, to the thousands of Greek citizens who offered their voices to your political organization, to express our gratitude, our solidarity and our support for the resistance that you are imposing against the ravages of neoliberal material conditions, of the political scenes and life in Greek society.

Tell us of your struggle for an alternative justice, dignity and democracy for the Greek people and all peoples that make up the European Union.

We welcome with enthusiasm the success achieved in recent Greek elections, and also applaud the management of results that you are doing.  We encourage you to persevere in this course of action, which is already an example and gives hope for millions of men and women in all of Europe.

We want you to know, you, the members of your organization and all Greek citizens, that other political groups of other directions, labor and society in general, we share with you the project of a common life truly free and united, living in the hope we cherish throughout Europe, that a new Greek government of popular unity defeats the dictatorship of bureaucrats and traders of kidnapped Europe.

We interpret the current situation as a Greek inflection point that could lead to radical transformation of European political and economic order. We all need a new Europe, of its citizens, not these brutal austerity policies that give priority to the payment of a odious, illegal and illegitimate debt which prevents the development of our human communities.

This is the appeal we do today, in the squares of Europe, the Puerta del Sol, Syntagma Square in Athens, and in many other points scattered throughout the European geography of squares that are released as the grains from which real democracy germinates, and that we, men and women in Europe, dream to cultivate in common.

The struggle against neoliberal authoritarianism, holding under reckless mortgage the present and future of our peoples, can only be won at the European level. It is essential at the European level.  We have truly democratic institutions which contribute to the freedom and solidarity among all the peoples of Europe in relation to the neoliberal oligarchy and its constant state of economic and political exception.

"And after so much waiting, it's time to lift the anchor," said the Greek national poet, yours and ours, Alexandros Panagoulis. We, the men and women of Europe, have been waiting for too long and we held out too long. Again, it is for the Greek people, such exquisite refined people knowing the secrets of the sea, but also of freedom, the responsibility of pointing the way to this new Europe that can already be seen in the streets and the squares and in our rebellious voices.

We align ourselves with you, shoulder to shoulder,  joined together, as in a great assembly of brother nations, this dangerous and pregnant journey of hopes.

Fraternal and thankful greetings.
