Reese Witherspoon and her hubby arrested for DUI

Actress Reese Witherspoon, known for her roles in "Legally Blonde" and "Walk the Line", was charged with disorderly conduct after she showed disrespect to a police officer. 

The incident occurred on Friday morning. Police stopped a Ford Fusion vehicle, driven by Witherspoon's husband, James Toth. There was a strong smell of alcohol coming from the man, and the officer offered Toth to be tested for alcohol. The actress was asked to stay in the car, but she came out and said that she was a celebrity, and that the scandal would get into all newspapers. She again was asked to get into the car. The officers warned the woman that she could be arrested for insubordination. Witherspoon told the officers that they were not real, and when the officers began to handcuff Thoth, she left the car again, saying that as a citizen of the United States she "had the right to stand on the American land." 

The actress was also arrested, in spite of resistance. 

The couple was taken to the police station, where the actress was charged with disorderly conduct, whereas her husband was charged with DUI. The date of the trial has not been announced yet.
