Snowman stops passenger train traveling from Moscow

Passenger train "Moscow - Novy Urengoy" had to make an emergency stop in the Kirov region, after the train ran over a snowman. The snowman "emerged" on the tracks. The collision resulted in a technical malfunction for the locomotive. The train continued traveling as soon as the malfunction was fixed. No one was injured.

The incident occurred on March 18. The train had to stop to repair the damage that the collision caused.

Traffic police arrived at the scene the same day, but they failed to find the perpetrators. The following day, traffic police officers found two boys, aged 10 and 11. The boys were students of a local boarding school in the Kirov region.

The boys confessed that they had made the snowman and set it up on the railway track. According to them, they just were curious to see what happens when a train hits a snowman at high speed.

They decided to repeat their "experiment" the next day, but instead of snow sculptures they put tree branches and wooden sticks on the tracks.

The adolescent offenders promised not to do anything like this ever again.
