Russia Notes Changes In Organisation And Tactics Of Foreign Secret Services

Russia's Federal Security Service /FSB/ has pointed out to changes in the organisation and tactics of intelligence activities of foreign secret services with regard to Russia. FSB director Nikolai Patrushev said as much Tuesday at a meeting with editors of Russia's leading media. According to Patrushev, at present foreign intelligence mainly focuses on collecting data related to Russia's development as a democratic state within the international community. In particular, foreign secret services lay stress on fundamental scientific research and development, new technologies and modern models of military hardware. Intelligence activities increasingly cover economic issues, financial market, trade and resources, concluded Patrushev.
