Noah's Ark launched in the Netherlands

A replica of Noah's Ark has been launched in the Netherlands. Up to 3,000 people will be able to visit the legendary vessel a day. The creator has spent three years and more than 1 million pounds on construction, according to Daily Telegraph.

Noah's Ark, according to Biblical tradition is a vessel built the righteous Noah to save his family from the Deluge. Dutch carpenter Johan Huibers recreated its exact copy, which is now available for tourists as a museum. Johan installed plastic animals inside for the desired effect.

According to the carpenter, the Ark turned out to be exactly the same as was described in the Book of Genesis:  123 meters long, 23 meters high, 29 meters thick. Visitors will be able to visit a restaurant and two movie theaters on board the vessel.

The idea to build the Ark occurred to Johan in a dream. When dreaming, the man saw as part of his own country drowning.

The ship weighs 3 tons; it is made of Swedish pine and steel and may take up to 1,500 people.
