US Delegation Arrives in Murmansk to Honour WW2 Veterans
A delegation from the US Embassy in Russia arrived in Murmansk today. It includes Brigadier General Kevin Ryan, Senior Military Attache; US Marines Attache, Lieutenant Colonel John Cane; and Air Force attachй, Karl Inman. This morning, the delegation was received by Gennady Gurianov, Deputy Governor of the Murmansk Region.
According to the press service of the Governor, the delegation purposely arrived on the American Veterans' Day. The official part of the meeting over, the US delegation will visit Murmansk city cemetery and lay flowers on the tombstones of American seamen who died in the WW2 while bringing ship convoys to the northern coast of Russia. After this, the members of the delegation will meet with Russian veterans, the participants of the allied convoy operations.
