Mother of three boys, looking forward to having a girl, gives birth to triplets

Svetlana Kotik, a resident of Dnepropetrovsk region, already has three sons aged 16, 13 and 10. The woman was dreaming of a daughter. The woman decided for yet another pregnancy, despite a heart defect.

Doctors did not allow Svetlana to give birth, as her heart disease was a rather serious one. However, the woman gave birth to three boys without any problems. When she came to the antenatal clinic to get registered for the fourth time, doctors told her that she was bearing three babies at once.

Svetlana was stunned by the news. Her husband treated the news philosophically. He said that they would raise al their kids, they only wanted them all healthy. The pregnancy was pretty complicated, and Svetlana was under the medical supervision for almost 8 months.

The woman gave birth during the 34 week, which is considered a very good result, especially given the heart condition of the 38-year-old woman.

At the end of 34th week, doctors performed a Cesarean section, and the woman became the mother to two more boys and the long-awaited daughter. Each of the triplets weighed about 1.7 kg and was 42-43 cm tall. The operation lasted for 50 minutes; the triplets were immediately placed in incubators, as their lungs had not been fully formed.

At present time, the babies can breathe themselves. Svetlana decided to name her sons Ivan and Alexander, and her daughter - Natasha.
