In the city of Syktyvkar, Russia's Komi Republic, employees of a car service station try to find a new home for their traveling cat. The feline got under the hood of a passenger cars raveled for nearly 300 kilometers from the city of Ukhta to Syktyvkar.

While driving, the driver heard the meowing sound from underneath the floor. He stopped the car at a gas station and decided to change engine oil. Underneath the engine cover, mechanics found a lump of black hair.

The young cat was alive, although the animal had its paws and ears frostbitten. Most likely, while in Ukhta, the cat decided to climb under the hood to get warm. The cat may have fallen asleep and could not get out when the car began to move.

Service employees took the cat to a veterinary clinic, where doctors made her an injection of antibiotic and washed the festering limbs. Activists of cat shelter "Cats Outside the Window" wanted to take care of the traveling cat, but mechanics decided to keep the animal. They called the cat Kapot, which translates as the "hood" from Russian. They gave her a nook at their the workshop and are now looking for new owners.
