Goggles to protect porn film performers from STDs, California officials say

In the US State of California, new regulations have been introduced requiring porn actors and actresses should wear protective goggles while shooting adult films.  

 

 

It goes without saying that porn actors regularly undergo medical examinations and have their blood tested for hepatitis, STDs and HIV regularly. Why should they now wear goggles? 

As it turns out, goggles help preventing the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, state Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board said.

Porn actors Jessica Drake and James Dean even made a satirical clip about the ridiculous measures California has been imposing. 

Researchers from the government agency provided a 21-page report containing the detailed description of preventive measures that would "keep performers safe."

Representatives of the Free Speech Coalition said that such measures would shut down the entire industry. "These are regulations designed for medical settings, and are unworkable on an adult film set - or even a Hollywood film set," FSC representatives said in a statement.
