Another air passenger finds needle in sandwich

A passenger of the plane of Air Canada that was flying from the city of Victoria (British Columbia) to Toronto, found a needle in a sandwich that was offered to him during the flight. The police of Canada investigate the incident, the Vancouver Sun said.

Peter Fitzpatrick, a spokesman for the airline, said that Air Canada had already contacted the flight food supplier to investigate the causes of the incident.

Last week, a scandal erupted in the U.S. around Delta Air, when passengers discovered several needles in their sandwiches. Moreover, the needles were found only in the sandwiches for business class passengers. One passenger received a minor injury but declined hospitalization.

Immediately after the incident, all sandwiches were withdrawn from flight menus and replaced with pizzas. The measure proved to be a timely one, because employees found five more sandwiches with needles, says RBC. The sewing supplies were found in the food of four flights of the airline. The FBI and Delta Air began joint investigation.
